Position Summary

This is a full-time, nine-month, professional-track appointment as an Instructor of Education, with a start date of September 16, 2025. The position is open until filled, with a priority deadline for applications being November 25, 2024. The salary range is $53,373 - $56,641, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities


Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in education, including but not limited to curriculum and assessment, historical and social foundations of education, classroom management, child and adolescent development, and instructional methods.
Engage in student advising and field supervision of pre-service teachers.
Participate in departmental service, project supervision, collaborative curriculum development, and program assessment.
Develop and maintain curriculum, ensuring it is innovative, relevant, and aligned with the needs of diverse student populations.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student success and engagement.


Essential Qualifications


A Master's degree in Education or a related field.
Demonstrated teaching potential and a passion for education.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Two years of teaching experience in public school settings.
Two years of experience teaching and/or supervising pre-service teachers.
Ability to work collaboratively with university, public school partners, and the community.


Preferred Qualifications


A terminal degree or ABD in Education or a related field.
Experience in teaching in a college or university setting, both traditionally and online.
Five years of teaching experience in public school settings.
Experience in undergraduate advising.
Significant experience teaching and supervising pre-service teachers from diverse backgrounds.

Strong analytical and research skills.
Proficiency in a variety of computer applications, including Learning Management Systems.
