Join Our Team at Alaska Waste! We are part of Waste Connections and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time CDL Truck Driver to help with local routes. This position is based in Healy, AK . Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, working from 7 am to 3 or 4 pm, allowing for a great work-life balance! The pay for this position is $30.00 per hour based on experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operate a garbage and tank truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Read route sheets and provide excellent service to each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher. Perform vehicle inspections and routine maintenance, ensuring safety equipment and fluids are correctly managed. Maintain a physically demanding role, including loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance. Engage courteously with customers and perform additional job-related duties as required. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and presenting a professional appearance at all times. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Engage in extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting and strenuous work involving objects over 50 pounds. Work in an environment that may involve physical risks, requiring adherence to basic safety measures. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including humidity, fumes, vibrations, and moderate noise levels. Minimum Job Requirements: Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement. Clean driving record is a must. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English; high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Mechanical knowledge and capability to maintain vehicles in good working order. At least 1 year of relevant experience related to the listed duties and responsibilities.
