Full Stack Web Developer Information Technology Remote, USA Position Overview: Nationwide IT Services is seeking a Full Stack Developer for an analytical, results-driven Full-Stack Developer who will work with team members to troubleshoot and improve current Full Stack applications and processes for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Mission Area (WMA) Enterprise Technology Office (ETO). The Full Stack Developer must have experience using modern, open-source software to prototype and deploy full-stack web applications, including all aspects of server-side processing, data storage, and integration with front-end development. You should have excellent communication, computer, and project management skills. To succeed as a full-stack developer, you should be focused on building a better, more efficient program and creating a better end-user experience. You should be knowledgeable, collaborative, and motivated when working in an Agile scrum context. Duties and Responsibilities: • Web development using modern open-source web programming languages and frameworks. Developing and consuming web-based, RESTful APIs. • Experience with scalable search technology and large data sets and scaling their handling and storage; working with relational and non-relational database systems. • Experience developing applications through Test-driven development processes; use of version control systems, specifically Git and GitLab. Using and working with open-source solutions and the community. • Authoring developer-friendly documentation (e.g., API documentation, deployment operations). • Quickly researching and learning new programming tools and techniques. • Active engagement as an agile scrum team member using Jira. Job Qualifications: • Remote office. Experience as a virtual team member using MS Teams, Office 365, SharePoint, and Jira with reliable internet, responsiveness, and availability. Upload bandwidth for pair programming and video sharing is required. Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and secure work location. • Degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field with 10 years of development experience, with most of that on agile development teams. • Fluency or understanding of specific languages, operating systems, and platforms. • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and programming techniques and tools in an agile scrum environment. Excellent project and time management skills. Clearly communicates and works with stakeholders at every level. • Designs and develops continuous integration/continuous deploy workflows. Researches and implements data-as-code technologies. Defines and configures unit and integration testing platforms to ensure code correctness between releases. • Ensures the rigorous application of defined information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to software products in a government contract setting.
