About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Angular Frontend Web Developer to join our team supporting a large-scale federal technology modernization program. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Angular-based web applications, translating Figma design specifications into functional and accessible user interfaces, and integrating frontend components with backend microservices via RESTful APIs.
You will work closely with UX designers, backend developers, and federal product owners within an Agile Scrum environment to deliver high-quality, responsive, and accessible web solutions. Ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards is a key aspect of this role, and you will be expected to incorporate accessible UI patterns into your development workflow. The position requires handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and adhering to relevant safeguarding and compliance protocols, supporting the organization’s mission to deliver secure and reliable solutions for federal agencies.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in frontend web development
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 8 years of progressive experience
• Proficiency in Angular (version 12+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Hands-on experience building component-based single-page applications (SPAs)
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs, managing asynchronous data flows, and error handling
• Strong ability to translate Figma or similar design specifications into production-quality code
• Experience working with shared Design Systems or component libraries, following established patterns and tokens
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance, with practical experience implementing accessible UI features
• Experience writing frontend unit and integration tests using frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, or Jest
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI, and integration of testing and build processes into deployment workflows
• Familiarity with code quality tools like SonarQube, including adherence to quality gates and branch coverage standards
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
• Develop Angular components and UI features aligned with sprint commitments, translating Figma designs into maintainable production code using approved Design System components, tokens, and patterns
• Build and consume RESTful APIs, collaborating with backend developers to ensure correct data integration and display
• Write comprehensive frontend tests, including component, service, and integration tests, achieving at least 90% branch coverage
• Implement accessibility standards in all UI code, including semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, keyboard navigation, and proper color contrast, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508
• Ensure all new UI code passes automated accessibility checks (aXe, pa11y) integrated into the CI pipeline before merge
• Contribute to the Design System governance process by identifying reusable patterns, proposing new components, and documenting contributions in Figma and Confluence
• Build responsive, cross-browser interfaces that function seamlessly across supported browsers and devices
• Conduct code reviews within one business day, providing substantive feedback focused on quality, performance, and standards adherence
• Support production triage efforts by diagnosing frontend issues, implementing fixes, and maintaining compliance with CI/CD processes
• Collaborate with UX designers during backlog refinement to assess design feasibility and provide technical input on story decomposition and estimation
