Freelance Media Buyer

District Consulting is a boutique marketing and communications firm supporting private and government clients across B2C and public sector initiatives. We’re known for high-quality creative, data-driven strategy, and strong partnerships with diverse small businesses.
• *About This Role**
District Consulting is building a vetted bench of Media Buyers to support current and future marketing initiatives across sectors including e-commerce, higher education, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
This is a project-based role with opportunities to be included in government proposals, private-sector pitches, and active campaigns. The ideal candidate brings both strategic insight and tactical execution experience across paid search, paid social, and display campaigns.
Media Buyers on the bench may be invited to support one-off campaigns or ongoing engagements - and will be given the opportunity to review scope, timeline, and pay before committing.
• *Key Responsibilities**
• Develop and manage paid media campaigns across platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Amazon Ads, etc.)
• Create and manage media plans, forecasts, and budgets
• Monitor performance and optimize campaigns toward key KPIs (CPA, ROAS, CTR, etc.)
• Prepare client-ready reports and analysis with actionable insights
• Troubleshoot issues with tracking, pixels, and audience segmentation
• Collaborate with designers and copywriters on creative variations and A/B testing
• Make strategic recommendations for scaling, retargeting, or adjusting spend by channel
• Stay up to date on platform trends and algorithm changes
• *Minimum Qualifications**
• 3+ years of hands-on media buying experience (agency or brand-side)
• Proficiency with Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, and at least one other major platform
• Strong understanding of ad tracking, pixel implementation, and attribution models
• Ability to read and act on performance data (Google Analytics, GA4, Meta, etc.)
• Experience working with creative teams to optimize ads
