We serve the journal, educational publishing, and elearning markets from content creation through delivery of print and digital products.
We are currently hiring for the following open positions. In many cases, remote candidates will be considered (as noted in job description).
Freelance Editorial Associate (US)
Remote β US
Flexible, Part-time, Full-time
$15 β $27 per hour
KnowledgeWorks Global Ltd. is a worldwide leader and provider of content management and editorial services to many of the worldβs largest and most impactful scholarly societies and publishers. We are currently recruiting editorial associates as independent contractors to support several journal programs.
Responsibilities may include:
β’ Provide excellent customer service to all external and internal journal stakeholders (e.g., editors, authors, publishers, colleagues)
β’ Perform quality checks on new and revised manuscript submissions following checklists and journal policy guidelines
β’ Follow a precise set of workflow protocols and ensure all manuscript requirements are met
β’ Facilitate manuscript peer review through outreach to editors and reviewers as directed
β’ Use KGLβs cloud-based technology as a communication and productivity tool
β’ Proofread and send decision letters and other correspondence to authors, editors, and reviewers
β’ Complete all assigned tasks during scheduled hours and meet productivity expectations
β’ Be a proficient user of the manuscript management system
β’ Provide editor, reviewer, and author technical support related to submission requirements and the submission system
β’ Assist newer staff who may shadow experienced colleagues
Skills and abilities required:
β’ A minimum of 1 year working in the editorial office of a scholarly journal or have transferrable experience
β’ Detail-oriented and highly accurate execution of job tasks
β’ Proficient use of standard office technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, teleconferencing, and G-Suite)
β’ Experience with one or more manuscript management systems is a plus (e.g., Editorial Manager, ScholarOne Manuscripts, eJournal Press)
β’ Excellent oral and written communication skills
