Freelance CPA – Tax Specialist
Job Title: Part-Time CPA (Contractor) – Bookkeeping & Tax Return Preparation
Job Type: Independent Contractor | Part-Time | Remote/Flexible Hours
Overview:
We are looking for a licensed CPA to join our team as an independent contractor. This is a part-time, flexible position focused on supporting ongoing bookkeeping tasks and preparing business and individual tax returns. Ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience working with small businesses.
Responsibilities:
• Review and reconcile monthly financials and general ledgers
• Maintain accurate and current QuickBooks Online files
• Prepare and/or review business and individual tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120S, 1065, etc.)
• Provide guidance on tax compliance and planning
• Assist with year-end close and financial reports
• Communicate regularly with internal staff and clients as needed
Qualifications:
• Active CPA license (required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and tax return preparation
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel
• In-depth understanding of federal and state tax regulations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Experience working as a contractor or with small businesses is preferred
Details:
• Independent contractor (1099) position
• Part-time: 10–20 hours per week, with flexibility
• Fully remote
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
