Job Overview
Black Digital is a full-service digital marketing agency partnering with mission-driven nonprofits and organizations. We're seeking a contract Freelance Copywriter for targeted execution support who collaborates with our creative services team (designers, video editors, social media specialists) and client services (account managers). Opportunity to scale hours/clients based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Write engaging copy for social media posts, email newsletters, and website content (e.g., 10 to 15 social pieces, 3 to 5 emails, 1 to 2 web sections weekly).
ā¢ Schedule social posts via Sprout Social and email blasts via Mailchimp/Constant Contact.
ā¢ Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper) for strategy (trends, ideation) and production support (drafts, optimization).
ā¢ Support 2 to 3 client accounts with brand-aligned content.
ā¢ Ensure A/B testing and basic performance checks.
ā¢ Attend client and internal meetings (2 to 4 hrs/week, ET timezone 9am to 5:30pm).
ā¢ Collaborate with creative services team and client services/account managers.
ā¢ 20 hrs/week to start; scales with proven results.
Qualifications
ā¢ 3+ years freelance/agency copywriting for social, email, web.
ā¢ Proven Sprout Social and Mailchimp/Constant Contact experience (share screenshots/portfolios).
ā¢ Agency experience ideal; comfortable managing multiple clients.
ā¢ Must be available for meetings in ET timezone (9am to 5:30pm).
ā¢ Strong samples in digital marketing or nonprofit sectors preferred.
Preferred
ā¢ AI-forward candidates with examples of AI-driven workflows.
ā¢ Familiarity with Meta/LinkedIn ads, UTMs.
