Key Responsibilities: - Financial Strategy & Planning: Guide the financial strategies of cannabis businesses, offering insights on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. - Compliance & Reporting: Manage financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and cannabis-specific regulations, including navigating IRS Code 280E and state/federal tax laws. - Risk Management: Implement internal controls and mitigate financial and regulatory risks in this complex, evolving market. - Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Ensure smooth cash flow and liquidity, while addressing banking limitations common to the cannabis industry. - Investor Relations: Act as the financial face of your clients' businesses, managing investor relationships, and supporting capital raising efforts. - Team Leadership: Build and lead finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability and financial discipline within your client base. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or CPA is preferred. - Experience: 7-10 years of financial leadership experience (CFO, VP of Finance, Controller), with a preference for those with cannabis industry experience or other highly regulated sectors. - Knowledge: In-depth understanding of financial regulations related to cannabis, tax laws (including Section 280E), and cash flow management under regulatory constraints. - Skills: Strong strategic planning, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and provide business-critical financial insights. - Location: Based anywhere in the USA.
