Fractional CMO – Digital Marketing Agency (US Only)

We are seeking a senior marketing leader or Fractional CMO who can step in to help guide marketing strategy, support client growth initiatives, and work closely with leadership on high-level marketing direction.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for a strategic marketing leader with agency experience who understands digital marketing at both the strategic and operational level.
You will work closely with company leadership to develop and oversee marketing strategies, support client initiatives, and guide internal marketing efforts.
This position is strategic and leadership-focused, not just campaign execution.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and guide high-level digital marketing strategies for client accounts
- Provide leadership and oversight across SEO, paid media, content, and growth initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve marketing performance and ROI
- Support strategic planning and growth initiatives for agency clients
Client Strategy
- Participate in strategy discussions with key clients
- Provide executive-level marketing insights and recommendations
- Translate business objectives into measurable marketing plans
Growth & Positioning
- Help refine positioning, messaging, and marketing frameworks
- Identify opportunities to improve lead generation and demand creation
- Support development of scalable marketing systems and processes
Team Collaboration
- Work with internal teams including SEO, paid media, content, and operations
- Provide strategic guidance on campaigns and performance metrics
- Help improve marketing processes and internal alignment
Required Experience
- 5+ years of marketing leadership experience
- Experience as CMO, VP Marketing, Marketing Director, or Fractional CMO
- Strong background in digital marketing and growth strategy
- Experience working with digital marketing agencies or consulting firms
- Strong strategic thinking and communication skills
- Deep understanding of:
- SEO
- Paid media
- Lead generation
- Marketing funnels
- analytics and ROI measurement
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with B2B or professional service companies
- Familiarity with industries such as legal, healthcare, energy, or industrial sectors
- Experience working with AI-driven marketing strategies or modern search frameworks
- Experience leading agency teams or consulting with executive leadership
