Kaizen CPAs + Advisors is hiring a full-time Fractional CFO to lead financial strategy for a portfolio of fast-growing small- and mid-sized businesses. You’ll work directly with entrepreneurial leaders who rely on your insight to make smart, forward-looking decisions.In this role, you’ll own financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting—while guiding business owners through critical moments and mentoring a rising Financial Analyst. If you’re a strategic thinker who thrives on turning insight into action, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & ReportingManage monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, BvA, KPIs)Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modelingDevelop financial models to support pricing, capital investment, and strategic planningEvaluate and improve internal controls and financial processesIdentify advisory opportunities and contribute to firm-wide thought leadershipClient AdvisoryFacilitate monthly and quarterly review meetings with business owners and stakeholdersLead initial strategy sessions and create 12-month financial roadmapsPresent financial insights in a clear, actionable format without unnecessary complexityMaintain timely, proactive communication and ensure all client touchpoints are documentedTeam LeadershipSupervise and mentor a Financial Analyst, providing direction, feedback, and growth opportunitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a consistent client experiencePromote process improvement, operational efficiency, and alignment with firm valuesEngagement OversightLead onboarding for new CFO engagements, including accounting clean-up and reporting system setupManage reforecasting cycles and oversee any financial system transitionsSupport M&A activity through financial due diligence and integration planningMaintain active CPA, CMA, or EA licensure and comply with all applicable professional standardsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferredActive CPA, CMA, or EA license required10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a CFO or senior strategic finance roleIntermediate-level tax knowledge, with the ability to advise on entity structure, owner compensation, and general tax implicationsExperience advising small to mid-sized privately held businesses across industriesStrong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial conceptsAdditional InformationHere’s a peek at what’s ahead as we get to know each other:✨ Please note: Progression through each step of the interview process is based on fit and qualifications and is not guaranteed for all applicants.
