Job Description
We’re looking for Food Service Assistants who take pride in providing meals that support patient health and comfort. In this role, you’ll help portion and serve food for patients and staff, assist in kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, and support basic prep and storage duties. If you enjoy working behind the scenes in a supportive, fast-paced setting, we welcome your skills and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
• Portion food for patients and staff
• Wash dishes and maintain kitchen cleanliness
• Store food and supplies properly
• Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines
• Perform other related food service duties as needed
Collaborative Teamwork
This role involves working closely with our dietary and clinical teams to ensure high-quality meal service and contribute to a clean, efficient kitchen environment.
Qualifications
• Completion of Basic Food Handler’s Course (within 30 days of hire, per Kern County Environmental Health Services)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Previous experience in food service, especially in healthcare, preferred but not required
