Financial Modeling Consultant for Hospitality & Consulting Firm (Project-Based, Ongoing Potential)
Friends & Family is a hospitality-focused consulting firm working with restaurants, bars, hotels, and experiential concepts on strategy, concept development, and investor-facing materials. We’re looking for a sharp financial modeling consultant to support project-based work across client engagements and internal planning.
This role is not bookkeeping or basic forecasting. The work sits at the intersection of hospitality operations, strategy, and investor readiness.
What You’ll Work On:
- Restaurant, bar, and hospitality pro formas (new concepts, expansions, refinances)
- Scenario modeling (best / base / downside cases)
- Unit economics and contribution margin analysis
- Staffing models tied to covers, revenue mix, and service style
- CAPEX + opening budget modeling
- Sensitivity analysis for pricing, labor, rent, and volume
- Investor-ready models that align with decks and narratives
- Occasionally: internal models for Friends & Family’s own growth and productized services
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience modeling restaurants, hospitality, or consumer-facing operating businesses
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (clean structure, clear assumptions, no black boxes)
- Ability to translate messy inputs into clear, defensible models
- Comfortable collaborating with a strategy-led consultant (you won’t be working in a silo)
- Investor literacy: understands how models are read, questioned, and stressed
- Detail-oriented, but pragmatic - models should be usable, not academic
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with consultants, developers, or operators
- Familiarity with investor decks and fundraising processes
- Ability to explain modeling logic clearly (not just build it)
