Role Description Mercor is seeking experienced financial managers to support a leading AI lab in advancing research and infrastructure for next-generation machine learning systems. This engagement focuses on diagnosing and solving real issues in financial management through hands-on scenario creation and validation. Key Responsibilities Write tasks and scenarios that reflect real-world financial management based on your professional experience Create realistic situations involving budget planning, financial reporting, cash flow management, team leadership, and strategic financial planning Develop scenarios for overseeing accounting teams, preparing financial forecasts, managing audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, making capital allocation decisions, presenting to executives, and implementing financial controls Review and evaluate AI responses to financial management queries for accuracy and professional standards Provide detailed feedback on financial management scenarios to improve AI training Qualifications 4+ years professional experience as a financial manager, finance director, or controller in finance or insurance Demonstrated professional recognition and management responsibilities Proficient with using computers and navigating various software systems Excellent written communication with strong grammar and spelling skills Pass video interview, background check, training, and qualification quiz 4 years experience preferred Requirements Fully remote and asynchronous — complete work on your own schedule Expected workload: 20+ hours per week, with flexibility to scale up to 40 hours Project start date: immediately, lasting for around 6 weeks Benefits Independent contractor engagement through Mercor Hourly compensation, paid weekly via Stripe Connect Payments based on services rendered; contractors maintain full control over their work schedule and methods Application Process Applications reviewed continuously; shortlisted professionals will be contacted for next steps Typical response time: within one week of submission
