We are therefore looking for amazing people to add to our team!About the role: We are looking for an accounting professional with a great analytical mind who is fiercely passionate about building a highly automated accounting function.As Financial Controller at GoMaterials, you’ll take full ownership of our general ledger accounting operations and shape how the function scales with the business. Beyond ensuring accurate financial reporting, you’ll be the driving force behind automating processes, strengthening internal controls, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and accuracy. What you’ll do: Own accounting operations: Complete ownership of general ledger accounting, payroll, and tax compliance activitiesMonth-end & year-end close: Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient reporting with automation-driven improvementsFinancial reporting: Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with ASPEInternal controls: Establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies and proceduresCompliance: Ensure payroll and sales tax compliance across Canada and U.S. jurisdictionsAudit & external partners: Manage annual audit, liaise with auditors and tax advisorsTechnology & automation: Champion system optimization, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate processesLeadership: Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering accountability, innovation, and growth What you'll need: CPA designation requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, ideally with a Big 4 background plus industry leadership experienceStrong command of ASPE accountingProven success managing full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and audit processesDemonstrated experience implementing automation, ERP systems, and process improvementsExpert-level Excel and data processing skills; basic proficiency in SQL, PowerQuery, or similar tools a plusBilingual (English & French) strongly preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills Additional Information From day one, you get to...
