Financial Controller

Remote Full-time
At Diakrit , we create digital marketing tools that help people around the world imagine their future home. With operations across 7 countries and more than 8,000 real estate clients, our work powers a better property experience. Founded in Sweden, Diakrit brings a unique blend of Swedish company culture and international collaboration. Our teams here in Thailand are at the heart of our global operations — working across borders and time zones to deliver impact every day. We’re now hiring a Financial Controller to take ownership of our finance operations globally. This is a Thailand-based role, with full relocation and visa support available. Are you a finance leader who thrives on bringing structure, compliance, and insight to complex environments? Are you passionate about automating manual processes and building systems that scale? Do you roll up your sleeves to solve root issues rather than just identifying them? If that sounds like you — we want you to lead our accounting team. In this role, you’ll work across all areas of the business to sharpen your commercial acumen while embedding best-practice compliance, systems, and training across a remote finance team of six. What you will be doing As Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of our global accounting and finance operations. Your mandate is twofold: ensure financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across the group, and build a high-performing finance function through continuous improvement and team development. You will dive into the details, resolve root causes of issues, and implement sustainable solutions. Your strong analytical and communication skills will enable you to work effectively across functions and geographies, fostering alignment and clarity. Beyond operational excellence, you will play a critical role in advancing our business performance and planning framework. Your insights will guide decision-making at executive level, helping the leadership team focus on what matters most. Key responsibilities Own the Group Financial Reporting Cycle Oversee end-to-end general ledger accounting, Group consolidation, cross border invoicing and monthly financial reporting across 20 legal entities in 8 countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Prepare for audit purposes well drafted financial accounting position papers to support positions taken on complex accounting matters. Statutory and Regulatory Compliance Manage statutory reporting, audit processes, and corporate tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions in partnership with local advisors and outsourced providers. Treasury & Cash Management Lead treasury operations including weekly cashflow forecasting, liquidity planning, and banking oversight, ensuring proactive management of group-wide funding and payment cycles. ERP Ownership (NetSuite) Act as system owner for NetSuite. Drive configuration improvements, enforce process governance, and identify automation opportunities to streamline financial operations by working closely with other impacted teams. Business Performance & Decision Support Deliver actionable insights through enhanced business performance reporting, dashboards, and variance analysis to support executive and operational decision-making. Process Improvement & Controls Identify and implement scalable finance processes and internal controls to support the company’s growth, including leveraging automation and best practices across the group. Team Leadership Lead and develop a global, remote finance team comprising 6 internal accountants and multiple outsourced service providers. Foster accountability, knowledge sharing, and high performance. You’ll thrive in this role if: You’re relentless about process efficiency and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality accounting outcomes. You bring a solid grounding in audit, financial reporting, or tax, and are eager to apply that expertise in a commercial environment. You enjoy mentoring and developing finance talent, and get satisfaction from lifting the capability and output of your team. You communicate with clarity and empathy, and are comfortable collaborating with people across functions, cultures, and time zones. You embrace change and ambiguity, and are energised by building and improving systems in a dynamic, fast-moving business. This role won’t be for you if: You prefer clearly defined hierarchies and structured environments over fluid, cross-functional collaboration. You prefer high-level vision work and delegate the details without diving in yourself. You rely on others to document your thinking, decisions, or processes. You’re looking to maintain an already fully optimised finance operation. You are uncomfortable working remotely or across international teams and time zones. Could this be you? You’re a detail-obsessed, hands-on finance professional who loves building great processes and empowering great people. You bring a strong foundation in accounting, a passion for problem solving, and the ability to translate data into direction. You enjoy working across cultures, leading teams, and making continuous improvements that scale. You have at least 5 years' experience in financial control or business finance roles, ideally in a multinational environment. You’re confident in the numbers, curious about the business, and eager to make a real impact. Must-haves: Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial or business control Fluent in English (written and spoken) Proven ability to influence stakeholders using financial insights Bangkok-based or open to relocating — we provide full relocation and visa support You’ll also bring: Deep expertise in financial reporting, group consolidation, and statutory compliance (IFRS knowledge essential) ERP experience — Oracle NetSuite preferred but not essential Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems or BI tools for automation and analysis Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-cultural mindset The flexibility to work across time zones with a globally distributed team A high degree of independence, initiative, and ownership Why Diakrit ?
