Financial Controller

Job Title: Financial Controller Location: Fully Remote Working hours: 8am-5pm EST Role Overview We are looking for a Financial Controller with experience in agency environments (digital marketing, creative, or similar) and a strong background in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This role will oversee the company’s financial health, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Maintain and reconcile QuickBooks Online (QBO) records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Develop financial strategies to support business growth and improve profitability. Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and expense tracking for the agency. Handle payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for employees and contractors. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for decision-making. Ensure tax compliance, including sales tax, payroll, and corporate filings. Streamline financial processes and implement best practices for efficiency. Requirements Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role in a digital marketing agency or related industry. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)—must be comfortable managing financials within the platform. Payroll management experience, including processing payroll, tax compliance, and benefits administration. Solid understanding of GAAP, financial planning, and reporting principles. Experience managing agency financials, project-based accounting, and revenue recognition. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations. Strong organizational and leadership skills with high attention to detail.
