Financial Analyst
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of North Carolinians. They are seeking a Financial Analyst I to perform financial analyses, consult on recordkeeping, and create decision support reports for the Office of the Controller. Responsibilities Perform financial analyses to ensure data integrity Consultation on recordkeeping and proper accounting for costs is furnished to others in the Office of the Controller (OoC) as well as outside parties Work on special projects as required Create and update decision support reports used by the Office of the Controller Coordinate the collection effort by emailing and calling county contacts as necessary Review the plans in order to validate appropriate cost allocation methods, reasonableness of allocations and identify potential problems Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, banking, finance, business administration, economics, or a related discipline from an accredited institution Strong analytical skills Excellent communication skills Extensive knowledge of Excel and Word Knowledge of accounting theories, principles and grant accounting NCFS experience Benefits Health insurance options Standard and supplemental retirement plans The NCFlex program (numerous high-quality, low-cost benefits on a pre-tax basis) Paid vacation Sick, and community service leave Paid parental leave Company Overview The Department of Health and Human Services manages the delivery of health- and human-related services for all North Carolinians.
