Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will perform financial analysis of operating results, support special projects in finance, and assist in optimizing business performance through data analysis and reporting.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze financial results to gain an understanding into the performance of the Manufacturing Plants and LogisticsPerform standard and ad hoc accounting entries and month end close proceduresManage daily and monthly capital expenditures, actual and forecasted tracking to planAnalyze capital projects for financial returns and facilitate the follow-up process in capital reviewsWork with the business on Capital vs. Expense guidance to functional areasAssist with Financial Business Plan and revised forecasts for all Supply Chain areasAssist Operations Finance Manager with standard cost development and validationGenerate monthly variance analyses, reporting diagnostic measures for policy deploymentContinually seek new methods and procedures to streamline and simplify month-end reporting processesProvide ad hoc reports as requiredWill work autonomously a significant amount of time and requires a high level of independent work to be completed and delivered to other groups within the organizationOther duties may be assignedSkillsBachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or FinanceZero to three years of related accounting/finance or business analytics experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in accounting/finance or business analyticsAnalytical/Problem Solving SkillsCOGNOS (or other warehouse tools) experienceJD Edwards Accounting SoftwareAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsIntermediate Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word experienceHyperion Reporting and Planning Suite knowledgeAbility to work independently and self-directedStrong communication skillsPreferred experience with LEAN concepts and principlesBenefitsComprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as prescription coverageShort-term disabilityEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Generous 401K Matching ProgramPaid time offOpportunities for development and advancementCompany OverviewBatesville is a provider of quality products and business solutions in the death care industry.
