Financial Analyst

They are seeking a talented FP&A analyst to assist in maintaining, consolidating, and analyzing financial reporting for their Market Operations Power & Gas Businesses, while collaborating with team members to improve processes and drive business growth.ResponsibilitiesCreate, consolidate, compile, and analyze annual budgets, monthly forecasts and monthly reporting packages for market operation power and natural gas within NRGAssist in preparation of monthly variance analyses of actuals vs. budget and latest forecasts, including investigating anomaliesUtilize financial management reporting systems to upload and retrieve dataPrepare monthly & annual presentations for Management including creating and/or updating graphs and charts for both financial and non-financial dataFoster relationships with various departments within NRG while continually seeking opportunities to improve processesGather, analyze, prepare, and summarize data for financial plans, future requirements, operating forecasts, etcWork to continuously improve existing reporting and analysis to drive insight and assist business growth; partner with commercial team to develop reports that provide clarity on financial performanceMonitor effectiveness of business processes, conducts analysis, makes recommendations, and coordinate implementation for system and process improvementsParticipate in and complete special projects as assigned by managementSkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college/university with a major in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline from an accredited college or universityProficient in the operation of computers and windows-based software and knowledge of ExcelOne (1) to Two (2) years of experience (including internships) in operations, finance or accountingExcels in quickly conceptualizing and assimilating data to assist management in making decisionsDemonstrate commitment to quality and strong attention to detailExperience in working both independently and in a team-oriented environmentForward thinker and self-starter who can follow directions but will also go the extra stepExperience in power and/or natural gas industries a plusBenefitsAnnual bonusShort- and long-term incentivesProgram-specific awardsMedicalVisionDental401KFlexible spending accountsCompany OverviewAt NRG PALLAS, we harness nuclear technology for what truly matters: health and energy.
