Financial Analyst
This position provides professional level financial knowledge and skills including budget, financial and performance metrics monitoring and analysis to support financial decision making under direct supervision.
ā¢ Prepares operating/grants/capital budgets with departments by basing budget on actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports and other factors;
ā¢ Monitors and tracks operating/grants/capital budgets for financial reporting;
ā¢ Develops current year estimate on department expenditures and revenue.
ā¢ Writes and reviews financial documents;
ā¢ Monitors and tracks performance measures and provides internal review and assessment of department measures to confirm data and trend accuracy and the appropriateness of the methodology used in measurement creation and tracking;
ā¢ Assists in compilation of monthly management reports;
ā¢ Conducts research for special projects;
ā¢ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies;
ā¢ Perform related duties as required.
Completion of a bachelors degree in finance, business administration, accounting, public administration, or a related field or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:
Valid Driver's license Knowledge of:
ā¢ Principles and practices of financial management;
ā¢ Principles and practices of financial and quantitative analysis;
ā¢ Principles and practices of public administration and budgeting.
Ability to:
ā¢ Analyze problems and develop recommendations;
ā¢ Compile and interpret data;
ā¢ Maintain effective working relationships with management and employees;
ā¢ Develop financial forecasts;
ā¢ Communicate effectively with others.
Physical Requirements
ā¢ Occasionally lift and carry up to 10 pounds;
ā¢ Occasionally stand and walk;
ā¢ Occasionally kneel;
ā¢ Frequently pull or push objects;
ā¢ Frequently rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing;
ā¢ Frequently reach above, at or below shoulder height;
