Location: Remote - must be based in the USWork Schedule: Mon–Fri, standard business hours (flexibility for evenings/weekends as needed)
Compensation: The anticipated rate for this role is $32.50hr. However, actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and geographic location.
About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-driven Financial Aid Specialist III to support continuing student financial aid operations. This role focuses on repackaging aid, validating eligibility, and ensuring full Title IV compliance across subsequent academic years.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining audit readiness while helping students continue their education with accurate and timely financial support.
What You’ll Do
Review and repackage financial aid for continuing students in compliance with federal and institutional guidelines
Analyze ISIRs, prior awards, and academic progression to determine eligibility
Manage verification and resolve conflicting information
Monitor daily reports (ISIRs, student status changes, document tracking) to identify and resolve issues
Ensure COA, loan limits, grade level progression, and eligibility are accurately applied
Process enrollment changes, including Pell recalculations, loan adjustments, and R2T4 impacts
Support academic year transitions, including crossover terms and loan proration
Advance eligible students to Ready to Pay (RTP) status
Maintain audit-ready documentation and accurate student records
Collaborate with campus teams and provide student support on aid changes and eligibility
What You Bring
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience & Skills
3+ years of financial aid experience (5+ preferred), with focus on repackaging and Title IV compliance
Experience with Pell recalculations, loan proration, R2T4, and enrollment changes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with verification and resolving discrepancies
Detail-oriented with a strong compliance mindset
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Advanced Excel skills preferred
Campus Nexus/Anthology experience a plus
Professional, accountable, and able to work independently
Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and travel
