Finance Operations Specialist
Title: Finance Operations Specialist Location: Remote (U.S. - Eastern Time Zone Preferred) About Rhymetec: Rhymetec was founded in New York City in 2015 and has grown steadily in the areas of compliance, cyber security, and data privacy. Our mission is to ensure our clients are compliant faster so they can focus on their core business and less on the complexities of building effective and compliant infosec programs. Job Responsibilities β’ Develop and manage department-level budgets, ensuring alignment with overall company goals. β’ Oversee organization-wide spending and approvals, implementing efficient financial controls. β’ Create and manage savings and cash flow plans to strengthen financial health. β’ Coordinate with external accountants/tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and compliance. β’ Maintain and improve financial bookkeeping processes, ensuring timely and accurate records. β’ Monitor departmental expenses and enforce budgets. β’ Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for leadership review. β’ Partner with leadership to build a long-term financial strategy for the company. β’ Implement financial systems, tools, and best practices to support scaling. Qualifications β’ Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). β’ 4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling roles. β’ Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. β’ Hands-on experience with bookkeeping/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Hubspot ). β’ Solid understanding of US GAAP and tax compliance. β’ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. β’ Strong communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with department heads. Nice to Have β’ Experience in SaaS / services-based businesses. β’ Background in working with startups or high-growth companies. β’ Experience setting up financial systems and processes from the ground up.
