Job requirements Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within the crypto, fintech, or broader financial services sector. Proven expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and financial systems management, with hands-on experience using accounting systems and reporting tools. Strong working knowledge of African tax frameworks, FSCA and similar requirements, and relevant financial regulations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling and data analysis, with the ability to translate data into meaningful financial insights. Comprehensive understanding of accounting processes, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment aligned to organisational values and governance standards. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA) is advantageous. Job responsibilities Execute financial management, analysis, and reporting activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information. Prepare and deliver timely monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and supporting schedules. Maintain and enhance financial controls, ensuring accurate reconciliations and effective oversight of cash flow. Support the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate external audit processes, resolving queries and ensuring full compliance. Monitor and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators to support executive and investor reporting requirements. Assist with statutory reporting, tax submissions, and adherence to applicable regulatory frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Operations, Legal) to enable informed, financially sound decision-making. Oversee budget performance and drive cost optimisation initiatives across the organisation. Maintain and continuously improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy. Ensure consistency, reliability, and integrity of financial data across systems, teams, and regulatory submissions. Support capital allocation decisions and contribute to financial modelling and scenario planning for new products and market expansion initiatives. Stay current with crypto-specific accounting considerations, regulatory developments, and industry best practices. Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by leadership and key stakeholders.
