What You'll Be Doing

Market Financial Leadership
• Serve as the primary Finance partner to the VP/Market Lead, Security & Sustainment, providing insight, challenge, and support on all financial matters.
• Lead development and consolidation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plan for the Federal Environmental portfolio.
• Monitor and report on revenue, margin, indirects, and cash performance versus plan; recommend actions to close gaps or capitalize on upside.
• Support market strategy and portfolio shaping decisions (e.g., where to grow, where to improve margins, and where to exit).

Project & Portfolio Performance (with Project Controls)
• Work closely with Project Controls staff assigned to Federal Environmental projects to ensure:
• Project-level EACs, schedules, and risk assessments roll up accurately into market financial forecasts.
• Major project deviations (cost/schedule) are understood, quantified, and reflected in forecasts and reported results.
• Review and challenge project-level forecasts, contingencies, and write-ups/downs; ensure consistency with corporate financial policies.
• Support Market VP in portfolio reviews, helping prioritize actions on underperforming projects and high-value opportunities.

Business Partnering & Decision Support
• Provide financial analysis for bids, proposals, and change orders in the federal environmental market, including pricing, margin, and risk scenarios.
• Support investment decisions (e.g., key hires, capability builds) with financial cases and return-on-investment analysis.
• Prepare and present clear, concise financial insights and recommendations to Market leadership and Security & Sustainment Finance.

Governance, Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies, revenue recognition rules, and financial controls in coordination with Security & Sustainment Finance.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly close activities for Federal Environmental with Finance, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Support internal and external audits as required, providing documentation and explanations for federal environmental financials.

Oversight of Project Controls Interface
• Act as the primary Finance point of contact for Project Controls on the federal environmental portfolio.
• Ensure alignment between project controls methodologies (cost/schedule/EV) and financial reporting requirements.
• Help prioritize Project Controls focus on projects with the greatest financial risk or opportunity.
• Provide coaching and guidance to Project Controls staff on how their data and forecasts impact financial outcomes.

What Required Skills You'll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or Project Finance, preferably supporting engineering and construction or complex project environments.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with operations/market leaders to drive financial performance.
• Strong understanding of project-based businesses (revenue recognition, EACs, change orders, margin analysis).
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, coordinating with both sector Finance (Security and sustainment finance) and market leadership.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites, to support our customer and facilities, as needed.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring
• Experience in supporting environmental markets or similar federal/industrial markets.
• Prior collaboration with Project Controls teams (cost/schedule/EV).
• Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar) or MBA.
• Experience in a large engineering, construction, or government contracting organization.
• Financial planning & analysis
• Project and portfolio performance management
• Business partnering with technical and market leaders
• Understanding of engineering and construction project economics
• Ability to oversee and interpret Project Controls outputs
