About the position

The Field Service Representative Apprenticeship is an 18-month program designed for U.S. military veterans or active military members seeking SkillBridge training opportunities. This role combines education and hands-on training to develop the technical and non-technical skills necessary for a Field Service Representative. The first year involves immersive training at the Red Oak, TX facility, focusing on manufacturing processes and electrical theory, followed by six months of shadowing experienced representatives to gain practical experience in the field.

Responsibilities
• Attend classes to gain electrical theory and power systems knowledge.
,
• Learn assembly, wiring, quality inspection, and testing processes at the Manufacturing Plant in Red Oak, TX.
,
• Support on-site repairs, start-up services, and preventative maintenance.
,
• Shadow experienced team members while performing technical and complex work orders.
,
• Assist with ordering parts and documentation as needed.
,
• Observe and learn how equipment is maintained and repaired, including retrofitting and testing.
,
• Consult with product support and engineering personnel to determine solutions to unusual problems.
,
• Interact with Schneider Electric's customers and learn how business and services are conducted.

Requirements
• Must have a safety-conscious mindset and apply good safety work practices.

• Ability to interpret written/verbal instructions and apply them in the services field.
,
• Desire to work on technical equipment and learn through on-the-job training.
,
• Comfortable working around energized equipment and in varying work environments.
,
• Flexibility to work various schedules based on program needs.
,
• Understanding of MS Word, MS Outlook, and other MS applications.
,
• Capacity to move service equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
,
• Must have received an honorable discharge if a veteran.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in electrical systems or related fields.
