Integrity, Inspiration, Quality and Teamwork!Job Description:Customer-facing Field Service Technician is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support of electro-mechanical and automated control systems within the mining, minerals processing, and bulk material handling industries. Provides technical support for both legacy and new installations across North America, leading on-site commissioning, system integration, and post-installation service while ensuring high system reliability and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the primary Field Service technical authority for customers in mining and mineral processing operations, delivering commissioning, troubleshooting, and post-installation engineering supportCommission automated electro-mechanical and control systems for new and modified mining equipment in a timely, professional, and safety-compliant mannerLead the execution, and documentation of Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in collaboration with Project Managers and customer engineering teamsMonitor the performance of the material handling system.Provide advanced on-site and remote support via phone, email, and secure remote access toolsDiagnose, analyze, and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in heavy industrial environmentsInterpret and apply mechanical systems schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, and control documentation to support accurate system installation and fault resolutionSupport PLC communications, industrial networks, and control system integration during commissioning and troubleshooting activitiesAct as the technical interface between customers, Project Management, Engineering, Controls, and multinational support teamsCoordinate spare parts identification, engineering selection, ordering, and logistics to support maintenance and repair activitiesUtilize service management systems (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent) to document, track, and resolve service and commissioning casesSupport warranty claims by providing engineering analysis, failure documentation, and corrective action recommendationsConduct root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with engineering and product teamsPlan and coordinate on-site service visits, preventive maintenance, emergency response, and system upgradesProvide technical guidance and escalation support to hotline engineers and field technicians during troubleshooting, change orders, and system modificationsCommunicate commissioning and service activities through daily, weekly, and project-based engineering reportsBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, project stakeholders, and multinational engineering teamsContribute to the development of service strategies, engineering standards, training materials, and technical documentation specific to mining and minerals applicationsIdentify and support after-sales opportunities including system upgrades, modernization projects, and change orders.Qualifications:Qualifications:5+ years of field service, commissioning, or technical support experience within mining, minerals processing, bulk material handling, or heavy industrial equipment environmentsStrong knowledge of electro-mechanical and electrical systemsProven ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentationHands-on experience commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting automated industrial control systemsExcellent customer-facing communication, coordination, and technical leadership skillsAbility and willingness to travel 50–80%, primarily within North America; occasional international travelExperience using service management systems and coordinating engineering service activitiesTechnical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent practical experience in electrical, controls, or industrial engineering disciplinesStrong knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices in mining environmentsExperience collaborating with multinational teams and European-based engineering or support organizationsTechnical Skills & ExpertiseElectro-Mechanical Systems (Mining & Heavy Industrial Equipment)Automated Control Systems & Industrial PLCsMechanical Systems TroubleshootingService Management & Technical Documentation SystemsSite Acceptance Testing (SAT) & Commissioning ExecutionAdditional Information:BEUMER is an innovative intralogistics company, where every employee is part of the "family".
