As a customer-facing representative, this role serves as onsite technical support for the commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial combustion and heating systems. This position requires a hands-on professional capable of independent problem-solving, technical analysis, and strong customer interaction in industrial environments.Key ResponsibilitiesCommission, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize new, existing, and retrofitted industrial combustion systems across the United States and occasionally internationallyInvestigate system-wide issues and perform root cause analysis on failed equipmentReview, adjust, and support PID loop programming in single- and multi-loop control systemsUtilize electronic test equipment, including multimeters, pressure/flow transmitters, and combustion analyzers, to interpret system performanceInterface directly with plant operators, engineers, maintenance teams, and managementProvide recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, efficiency, and safetyCollaborate closely with U.S.-based sales, engineering, project management, and other service team members to resolve technical challenges and support ongoing projectsPrepare detailed service reports, timesheets, and technical documentation following each field assignmentEnsure strict compliance with Bloom Engineering safety standards, customer site requirements, and applicable local safety regulationsCommercial & Customer Support ResponsibilitiesSupport Bloom Engineering’s commercial efforts by:Identifying, within Bloom Engineering’s customer base, when spare parts are neededGathering detailed technical information on customer heating applications to support corporate engineering, applications, and sales teams in solution development and proposal preparationCollecting and relaying technical details related to customer warranty claimsBuild, maintain, and strengthen long-term customer relationships by professionally representing Bloom EngineeringQualificationsAssociate degree in engineering technology or applied sciences from an ABET-accredited program Bachelor’s degree preferred, specifically in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or an equivalent technical discipline) For candidates with less than 4 years of applicable experience, reasonable proximity to the Pittsburgh headquarters is required to support onboarding and initial trainingFluency in EnglishAble to write reports in English to summarize findings and work completedOSHA 10-Hour and NFPA 70E safety training (or ability to obtain)Valid driver’s licenseValid passport or ability to obtain a passportWillingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time (90+% of this travel will be in the US)Desired CharacteristicsPrevious field experience with industrial combustion systems, burners, furnaces, or other heat-processing equipmentWorking knowledge of mechanical and electrical systemsAbility to calibrate, use, and analyze data from mechanical and electrical instrumentsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematicsFamiliarity with PID control systems and instrumentationExperience following and troubleshooting PLC ladder logicStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsProficiency in communicating in SpanishExcellent communication and customer service skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work independently and adapt to changing field conditionsStrong desire to learn and grow within a technical field service environmentAdditional Information:Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $62100-85300 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
