Field Service Engineer
Service Express is a company that provides critical IT infrastructure support, and they are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support their customers in the Omaha area. The role involves traveling to customer sites to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair enterprise-level servers and storage hardware, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Travel to customer sites within approximately a 100-mile radius to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues Perform maintenance and repair on data center hardware, including mid-to-high end servers and storage devices Provide exceptional service by responding quickly and efficiently to customer needs Communicate clearly and confidently to ensure customers feel supported and their concerns are addressed Identify and proactively escalate potential technical issues when needed Assist with data center relocations and inventory audits Troubleshoot hardware issues efficiently while managing multiple service calls Interpret maintenance manuals and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex issues Stay current on industry advancements through training and certification programs Serve as a technical expert during sales calls when needed Document and share resolutions to improve team knowledge and efficiency Prepare thorough audits and maintain documentation of service calls Proactively analyze and prepare for service calls to ensure quick and effective solutions Maintain accurate records of service activities, expenses, and customer interactions Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, operations, and sales to deliver seamless support Skills Proven experience in a field service or customer-facing hardware repair role Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining servers, storage devices, and data center equipment Comfortable working independently and managing a regional service territory Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Valid driver's license and willingness to drive regularly to customer locations Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching A+ or Server+ certification preferred but not required Benefits Workplace flexibility that empowers you Comprehensive training program – we hire the will and train the skill!
