Field Operations Lead - Disaster Relief

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Field Operations Lead serves as a critical leader within Foursquare Disaster relief, overseeing real-time operational activities, coordinating field efforts across multiple disaster zones, and supporting global and domestic church engagement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor global and U.S. weather systems, humanitarian crises, refugee movements, pandemics, and conflict zones 24/7

Provide direction and logistical coordination for multiple domestic and international disaster relief projects

Lead field operations and real-time communications between responders, local churches, FDR HQ, and broader Foursquare leadership

Lead operational calls with districts, churches, communications teams, and field personnel

Develop and maintain relief logistical locations across the U.S. to provide FDR response capacity

Develop, train, and connect local church response teams in the U.S. and globally with FDR’s overarching response framework

Partner with local churches and field teams by providing training, insurance, guidance, logistical support, and operational resources

Recruit, train, and mentor FDR Advanced Lead Team members to lead specialized responses in areas such as medical aid, food, water, construction, and pastoral/spiritual care

Recruit, train, and mentor FDR's certified responders for ongoing readiness and deployment in response teams in the the US and globally

Mobilize and deploy qualified FDR/FMI workers into global and domestic crises

Build partnerships with churches, NGOs, suppliers, and local organizations to broaden the reach of FDR and procure needed resource

Collaborate with FDR Communications Lead to produce response updates, promotional content, and materials for print, video, social media, and conventions

Represent FDR through public speaking engagements at churches, conferences, and events both in the US and internationally

Other duties and projects as assigned by the supervisory team leader



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES

Demonstrates humility and a growth mindset with an attitude of servant-leadership, placing serving over being served and collaboration over individualization

5+ years field operations, disaster relief or related humanitarian experience

Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary team management and cross-cultural contexts

Strong logistics, crisis management, and organizational skills

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent level of experience, training and education

Familiar with systems for crisis monitoring and response coordination

CPR/First Aid or equivalent certifications preferred

Ability to travel frequently, including to crisis zones

Ability to work remotely effectively both independently and as part of a team

Must be able to work regular business hours with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and additional hours during active response operations, including participation in an on-call rotation

Level of professionalism and spiritual maturity with the ability to partner in sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, clear communicator

Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, create timelines and meet project deadlines; attention to detail

Adaptable and able to learn quickly; strong problem-solving abilities

Experienced using Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel) including collaboration applications (Teams, etc.)

Bilingual: ability to speak, listen, read, and write fluently in Spanish is preferred



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity of fingers, hands and wrists; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the phone; have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; the physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds.
