Field Investigator
Job Title: Field Investigator Department: Compliance & Quality Assurance Reports To: Operations Manager Location: Remote (with up to 70% travel required) JOB SUMMARY MediDrive is seeking a Field Investigator to conduct on-site evaluations of transportation providers and ensure compliance with service agreements, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations. This role is responsible for performing inspections, documenting findings, and reporting compliance issues to leadership. The Field Investigator plays a critical role in maintaining service quality, provider accountability, and regulatory adherence in the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) program. The ideal candidate has experience in compliance investigations, field inspections, or transportation audits, with strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES On-Site Evaluations & Compliance Audits Conduct scheduled and unannounced inspections of transportation providers, drivers, and vehicles. Verify compliance with Medicaid transportation regulations, ADA accessibility standards, and contractual service agreements. Ensure providersmaintainproper licensing, insurance coverage, and driver credentialing. Assess vehicle safety, cleanliness, and operational standardsin accordance withregulatory requirements. Investigations & Reporting Investigate service complaints, fraud allegations, and provider misconduct through field observations and interviews. Document findings in detailed reports and escalate compliance violations as needed. Assistin corrective action planning and follow-up inspections to ensure provider improvements. Collaborate with internal compliance teams and regulatory agencies on audit outcomes. Training & Provider Education Provide guidance to transportation providers on best practices, compliance requirements, and service expectations. Support provider training efforts related to safety protocols, documentation accuracy, and regulatory changes. Recommend policy updates and process improvements to strengthen compliance monitoring. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Bachelorāsdegree, TransportationManagement, Compliance, ora relatedfield preferred. 3+ years of experience in compliance investigations, transportation audits, or field inspections. Experience working with Medicaid-funded programs, NEMT provider compliance, or regulatory agencies is a plus. Skills & Abilities Strong investigative and observational skills to assess provider compliance. Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with the ability to prepare detailed compliance reports. Proficiencyin field data collection, GPS tracking, and auditing tools. Ability to work independently in the field, manage multiple inspections, and meet reporting deadlines. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and regulatory adherence. Certifications & Additional Requirements Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or similar certification preferred.
