Feed Sales Specialist The Sales Specialist represents Purina Animal Nutrition products across assigned markets and territories. This role is responsible for managing and expanding dealer and co-op relationships, driving revenue growth at both the distribution level and the farm gate. The position requires independent sales execution, strong relationship management, and effective alignment of inventory and product portfolios with market needs. This sales role will service the Western Missouri region and have a species emphasis on cattle and equine. Candidates are expected to be located within the territory. Key Responsibilities Leverage existing dealer and co-op relationships and identify new distribution opportunities to expand market share within the assigned territory. Understand market needs and communicate how the Purina product portfolio addresses those needs; ensure dealers and co-ops are stocked with appropriate inventory. Serve as the lead contact for key accounts, including accounts with multiple sellers, and collaborate across Channel Sales to meet revenue targets. Independently qualify, pursue, and close new sales opportunities with dealers and co-ops. Provide accurate product availability updates and manage inventory levels to support sales execution. Support sales growth through on-farm visits and participation in dealer and customer functions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Moderate knowledge of the animal nutrition industry, sales practices, and the Purina product portfolio. Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex sales and market challenges. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently under general supervision while contributing to broader departmental and organizational objectives. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required. Typically 5–10 years of relevant experience in sales, animal nutrition, or a related field. Compensation This is a sales role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus commission.
