Company: Mercer Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Federal Health Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in Washington DC. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Federal Health Consultant, Sr. Associate Level As a Senior Associate in Mercer’s Federal Health practice, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact solutions to federal government clients. This position sits at the intersection of policy, data, and strategy—supporting public health programs that serve millions of individuals. This role is ideal for professionals with 3–5 years of experience in healthcare consulting, government programs, or public health who are ready to deepen their impact and grow into formal leadership roles. We will count on you to: • Lead defined project workstreams from start to finish • Develop and manage detailed work plans and timelines for assigned tasks • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables • Conduct or oversee complex analyses using technology enabled tools • Interpret healthcare and policy data (e.g., quality metrics, utilization, financials) to develop actionable insights • Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients on specific workstreams • Participate in client meetings, present findings, and contribute to discussions and recommendations • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuaries, policy analysts, and clinicians What you need to have: • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, Health Policy, Public Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field • 3–5 years of experience in consulting, government, or healthcare-related roles • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Excel) • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively • Experience working with publicly funded health programs preferred What makes you stand out? • Experience leading project workstreams or small teams • Familiarity with federal and state healthcare regulations and reporting requirements • Exposure to managed care, quality reporting (e.g., HEDIS), value-based payment, or rate setting • Certification in project management, CPHQ, or related fields a plus • Manage the complexities of overlapping procurements, transitions, and start of healthcare delivery activities. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $88,000 to $176,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
