They are seeking a self-motivated Family Law Attorney who will manage cases from start to finish, advocate for clients, and work collaboratively with colleagues in a flexible, high-performing practice. Responsibilities Represent clients in a full spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and related proceedings Conduct initial client consultations and assess legal strategy, risks, and case fit Advocate for clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations Collaborate with colleagues to develop thoughtful, effective legal strategies aligned with client goals Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation within firm systems Manage caseload independently while communicating proactively with the team regarding case needs and capacity Skills J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Virginia Bar License 1+ year of family litigation experience, including but not limited to hearings, motions, and case strategy Strong verbal and written communication skills A confident advocate with excellent client service skills and a patient demeanor Admission to additional bars, particularly Maryland or the District of Columbia Familiarity with Clio or similar cloud-based practice management systems Engagement in the local legal community through bar associations, committees, or professional organizations Benefits Hybrid work schedule after the initial training period, with flexibility tied to meeting billable expectations Unlimited PTO once billable requirements are met, with reasonable scheduling coordination to ensure client continuity Comprehensive health coverage, including 100% employer-paid employee premiums, plus life insurance 401(k) with a 3% employer match, once eligible Performance-based annual bonus, tied to individual contribution and results Origination bonus opportunities for attorneys who exceed billable expectations and contribute to firm growth Professional development support, including 100% coverage of up to two bar memberships and required CLEs Company Overview Virginia Family Law Center provides comprehensive legal representation to individuals and families navigating divorce and other family law matters throughout Northern Virginia.
