Key Responsibilities As a Virtual Monitoring Technician, your key responsibilities will include: Maintaining visual observation at all times, monitoring patient behaviors and movements, and recognizing behaviors that could result in potential harm to patients. Supporting the plan of care for patients requiring virtual monitoring, verbally redirecting patients as needed, and immediately summoning nursing staff if patients require assistance. Documenting patient information accurately and in a timely manner, providing nursing staff with information in a timely fashion when patients appear to pose a threat to themselves or others. Participating in collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues, assuring patient environment safety, and seeking assistance from nursing staff with removal of any potential safety hazards. Communicating with internal and external customers, colleagues, and patients in a courteous, positive, empathic, and professional manner. Providing shift-to-shift hand off to virtual monitoring attendants and nursing staff of pertinent information and behaviors. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a patient monitoring or nursing role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain visual observation at all times, recognizing behaviors that could result in potential harm to patients. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate electronic medical records and other healthcare software. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: A degree in a healthcare-related field, such as nursing or healthcare administration. Experience working in a remote patient monitoring setting or with similar technologies. Certification in a healthcare-related field, such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
