As a virtual EL certified special education teacher, you'll join our dynamic team of educators who share a common goal: to empower students with diverse learning needs to thrive in an online environment. About the Role We're seeking an experienced and dedicated special education teacher with an ESL certification to join our virtual team. As a 1099 contractor, you'll have the flexibility to set your own schedule and work independently from the comfort of your home. You'll provide individualized instruction and support to K-12 students, helping them achieve their full potential in an online learning environment. Key Responsibilities As a virtual EL certified special education teacher, your key responsibilities will include: Providing virtual instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that IEP goals are met. Attending EL meetings biweekly, building-based ILP meetings, documenting services, and creating/maintaining ILPs. Conducting virtual assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for growth. Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote success. Collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure a supportive learning environment for all students. Staying up-to-date on special education regulations and best practices to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education. An active Michigan Special Education teaching certification (required). Experience developing and implementing IEPs. Prior experience working in a virtual setting is a plus. Strong knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA and 504 plans. Excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively. Ability to work with diverse student populations and learning styles. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
