We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, social growth, and personal development. **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced Teacher of the Deaf: Elementary to join our team of dedicated educators. As a Teacher of the Deaf: Elementary, you will be responsible for providing standards-based instruction to K-12th grade students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans that meet the unique needs of each student. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide standards-based instruction to K-12th grade students who are deaf or hard of hearing * Develop and implement individualized education plans that meet the unique needs of each student * Utilize technology to model, teach, and assist students relative to classroom instruction and activities * Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the areas of task analysis, assessment, progress monitoring, behavior management, organization/planning, curriculum development, current technology practices, parent relations, and teamwork * Work in co-teaching teams with others to provide comprehensive support to students * Participate in regular team and departmental meetings, school and instructional meetings as required * Provide parent consultation and participate in selected parent-focused activities * Seek opportunities for and participate in activities related to professional development and training/workshops as appropriate **Essential Qualifications** * Master's Degree in Education or closely related field from an accredited college or university, with specialization in Deaf Education * Hold or be eligible for appropriate educator licensure in the State of Colorado, endorsed as a Special Education Specialist: Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, or comparable endorsement * Subject area endorsement or specialization in elementary education * Experience teaching/working with children (in an educational environment) who are deaf/hard of hearing, or/or who may have multiple disabilities desired * Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Advanced (3+) skill level as demonstrated through an appropriate assessment tool and according to school policy/procedures **Preferred Qualifications** * Knowledge of and ability to apply current standards-based educational practices associated with students who are deaf/hard of hearing * Knowledge of and ability to assess and apply technology to perform the requirements of the position * Ability to effectively utilize a variety of computer software applications, which may include but is not limited to e-mail, Internet, word processing, electronic calendar, presentation development, spreadsheet, database, etc. * Willingness to stay current and develop skills as needed with or without direct support from CSDB **Skills and Competencies** * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work cooperatively with others and participate effectively in team settings * Strong, positive interpersonal skills * Ability to establish high standards for what students must know and be able to do * Ability to communicate effectively with students who are deaf/hard of hearing * Ability to respond effectively and positively to feedback **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** * Opportunities for professional development and training/workshops * Participation in regular team and departmental meetings, school and instructional meetings as required * Collaboration with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans * Support from experienced educators and administrators * Opportunities for career advancement and growth within the organization **Work Environment and Company Culture** * Remote work opportunity with flexible scheduling * Collaborative and supportive work environment * Opportunities for professional growth and development * Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion * Strong benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, short-term disability insurance, retirement, and personal leave **Compensation, Perks, and Benefits** * Competitive salary range: $60,175 per year * Excellent benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, short-term disability insurance, retirement, and personal leave * Opportunities for professional growth and development * Flexible scheduling and remote work opportunity * Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion **How to Apply** If you are a dedicated and experienced teacher of the deaf with a passion for providing high-quality education to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
