As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including but not limited to: Kinder, Early Years, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High, SpEd, Special Ed, IEP, Paraprofessional, Teaching Aide, Teaching Assistant, TA, Instructional Assistant, Campus Aide, Yard Supervisor, Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, Drama, Theater Studies, Daycare, Teacher assistant Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Collaborate with other educators to achieve common goals and objectives Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references with one by a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check & TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and other educational best practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans Effective classroom management and behavior management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with diverse learners and adapt to different learning styles Knowledge of educational technology and software applications Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our Substitute Teachers.
