About the Role We're excited to offer a Substitute Teacher opportunity that provides the flexibility to work on your own schedule while making a positive impact on the educational journey of students in Oldwick, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the chance to gain hands-on teaching experience across various educational settings, from elementary to high school, and even in specialized subjects or special education classrooms. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Adapt to different teaching environments and curriculum requirements. Manage classroom behavior and ensure a productive learning environment. Deliver lessons as planned by the classroom teacher or develop your own engaging lesson plans. Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff. Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss your performance, receive feedback, and develop your teaching skills. Engage in ongoing professional development through our free, online training programs that cover topics such as trauma-informed teaching and classroom management. Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first. Preferred Qualifications & Skills Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience. Special education or subject-specific teaching certifications. Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to new environments and challenges. Strong communication and organizational skills.
