Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, teachers, and administrators to ensure a smooth transition Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Be available for assignments on a flexible schedule, including short-term and long-term placements Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related field Special Education or subject-specific certifications (e.g., Math, Science, ELA) Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with IEPs Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and willingness to learn Compassion, empathy, and patience when working with students Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping you grow and develop as an educator.
