About the Role: Substitute Teacher We're seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our community of educators in Port Monmouth, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring continuity of learning Manage classroom environments to promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and school staff to foster a collaborative learning environment Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your teaching skills Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first Empathetic nature, growth mindset, and drive to excel in your role Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Specialized training or certifications in areas such as Special Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), or STEM education Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school communities Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in classroom management and conflict resolution Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth What We Offer: Competitive pay rates: Earn up to $190 for day-to-day assignments, with higher rates for long-term assignments Flexible scheduling: Choose assignments that fit your availability and preferences Ongoing support: 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant, plus access to free online training and resources Weekly pay: Get paid for your work on a weekly basis W-2 employment: Enjoy the benefits of being a W-2 employee, with no fussing over taxes $0 onboarding costs: We'll cover the cost of state background checks and other necessary expenses Referral incentives: Earn $100 gift cards for referring friends who complete 10 shifts with Scoot Education Career Growth Opportunities: At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping our substitutes grow and develop in their careers.
