Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in Clifton, NJ schools, under the guidance of the regular classroom teacher. Adapt to different teaching environments and curricula, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn. Develop and maintain a positive, respectful, and professional relationship with students, teachers, and school staff. Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, inclusive learning environment. Communicate effectively with teachers and school administrators to ensure a smooth and successful assignment. Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and address any concerns or questions. Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost of this). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and putting students first. An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related role. Special education or subject-specific experience (e.g., Math, Science, English, Special Ed). Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies.
