Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Student Worker - Peer Tutor Academic Support to join our team. As a Peer Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing subject matter assistance and support to fellow students, helping them to master concepts and achieve academic success. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere and enjoy a competitive salary package. Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one assistance, appointment-based and small group settings in subjects that the tutor has maintained a B or better.
Develop and nurture rapport with peers and faculty, and visit classrooms as needed to introduce students to tutoring services.
Complete and submit all required forms, including time sheets, evaluations, and questionnaires distributed at workshops.
Create a welcoming environment and assist faculty/staff, tutors, and students, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Be punctual, begin all sessions promptly, and focus on the student's needs, being courteous and helpful in all interactions.
Maintain confidentiality with any shared information and adhere to all tutoring policies.
Assist the Academic Support Coordinator with various projects and tasks.


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

Must be a current Waubonsee Community College student.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people.
Appreciation for, and sensitivity to, cultural differences.
Demonstrate strong clerical and organizational skills.
Must be a good student in academic standing, maintaining a minimum of 3.0 GPA throughout the term of your employment.
Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
Basic knowledge of Canvas.
