Staff Accountant Role: Key Responsibilities and Requirements As a Staff Accountant at Milestone, you'll play a critical role in delivering high-quality outsourced accounting services to our clients. This is a remote position with occasional travel to our Indianapolis headquarters, and we're looking for candidates who are within a reasonable driving distance of the area. Responsibilities: Process Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable transactions for our clients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving any discrepancies. Prepare recurring journal entries, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Work closely with clients to provide updates, answer questions, and address concerns, escalating to a Controller when necessary. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting: A strong foundation in accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Minimum 2 Years of Related Experience: Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and journal entries. Advanced Knowledge of QBO and Cloud-Based Accounting Software: Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other cloud-based accounting tools, such as Bill.com, Tallie, and Gusto. Tech Savvy: A passion for technology and the ability to quickly learn new software and systems. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members. Organized and Detail-Oriented: A strong emphasis on attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and creating an exceptional client experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other cloud-based accounting software and tools. Knowledge of accounting regulations and standards, such as GAAP. Previous experience in a public accounting firm or industry.
