Job Highlights Company: Workwarp, in partnership with Disney Streaming Start Date: Immediate openings available Compensation: A competitive salary of $200/hour Location: Remote - work from anywhere in the world Position: Software Engineering Manager - Disney Streaming Key Responsibilities As a Software Engineering Manager at Disney Streaming, you'll be responsible for: Building and maintaining a diverse software engineering team through training, career development, mentoring, and process improvement Owning and designing the technical vision for applications and tools Collaborating with product managers and other stakeholders to prioritize work and set goals for the team Refining engineering practices and maintaining operational excellence Demonstrating creativity, care, and excellent verbal and written communication skills Moving quickly and adapting to meet the changing needs of the product Driving innovation and building space for growth and development of products and teams Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: 4+ years of engineering management experience 4+ years of computer programming experience Experience recruiting diverse talent, building, and driving teams Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, and a solid grasp of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.) Experience with event-driven systems models (reactive design) Practical knowledge and relevant experience shipping web services in cloud infrastructure Experience writing unit tests/implementing test-driven development processes A four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Programming, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, and/or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experience are highly desirable: Deep experience in reactive programming on JVM languages, preferably Java Hands-on experience as a service manager with experience building and managing observability systems Hands-on experience managing AWS services with specific experience using Terraform or other IAC tools Hands-on experience building on and managing distributed NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB, Cassandra, Scylla, and Couchbase Experience working with remote global teams and a flexible schedule across different time zones What We Offer As a Disney Streaming team member, you'll enjoy: A competitive salary and benefits package The opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that drive business success and customer satisfaction A dynamic and innovative work environment that's constantly evolving and improving A collaborative and supportive team that's passionate about using technology to drive business success Opportunities for career growth and professional development The flexibility to work from anywhere in the world Why Join Us?
