About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team, providing numerical modeling and analysis services to support critical financial, operational, and strategic planning decisions. As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will participate in supporting project teams in value-added activities that generate practical solutions to complex business problems, explore new business opportunities, and drive improvement in business decisions. Key Responsibilities Develops the strategyogle strategy and methodologies to define and solve management problems through quantitative analysis and analytical models using statistics, machine learning, forecasting procedures, and structured programming languages Identifies, analyzes, or solves large complex problems using big data and statistics, forecasting, and machine learning principles Applies understanding of the business cycle to identify and implement statistical, forecasting, and machine learning solutions that will result in significant bottom-line contributions Builds and develops statistical, forecasting, and machine learning model applications and provides client support using operations research data Participates in model design, modeling, and model development for multiple initiatives that occur concurrently and engages with product delivery teams Raises concerns when the scope of analysis may not align with time available and can select an appropriate scope of analysis to conduct, adjusting return on investment to time available Designs analytical arrangement/develops hypotheses to test Understands the limitations of analysis (what it can and cannot be used for) Anticipates to work group questions to data and approach Identifies solution quality risks and on-time risks Comprehends the business value, process, and assumptions before focusing on the selection of a technical solution Grasps the instinct behind the numbers (for example, does it make sense?) Offers ongoing analytical services to client organizations Presents results to management and clients Contributes deck content and builds the story for the deck with guidance to summarize findings Creates and delivers presentations aligned with AI standards Communicates in a way suitable for working group and their level +1 Stays informed about the latest scientific techniques and research in the statistics, forecasting, machine learning, and analysis fields Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD) in statistics or other related quantitative discipline, including quantitative analysis and application of advanced statistical methods Coursework or work experience with statistics or possibly forecasting methods Coursework or work experience in model prototyping through the use of statistical package(s), including SAS or SPSS, Minitab, or possibly BI tools Coursework or work experience with C, C++, Java, R, Python, or other structured programming language Excellent business, technical, verbal/written communication, presentation, and sales skills Flexibility to adapt to a changing business environment Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage with clients Proficient with MS Office Successful completion of an interview is expected to meet job qualifications Solid, reliable attendance is a fundamental qualification of the position Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Minor in computer science or formal advanced computer science coursework 2+ years of professional experience in a scientific field 1+ year of airline industry experience 1+ years of planning and programming/coding data structures for large-scale computer models Experience with Julia programming language Knowledge of arenaflex/industry data sources Structured programming for large-scale computer models Demonstrated ability to create business value Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
