The Information Stages Group, a vital section within arenaflex's Entertainment and Digital Experiences division, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join its Item Execution and Instrumentation Group.

Job Overview
The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that drive business value across the organization. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data pipelines, architectures, and tools that enable data-driven decision-making, improve customer experiences, and drive business growth. With a strong technical background and a passion for data engineering, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet the needs of various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data products and data pipelines in Scala and Python/Spark, ensuring uptime SLAs and high-quality data delivery
Design and develop scalable solutions, building ETL pipelines in big data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
Implement the Lakehouse architecture, working with key partners to move towards a Lakehouse-driven data platform
Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Architects, and Data Scientists to design, implement, and deliver effective data solutions
Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance
Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support commitment to clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams)
Be an active participant and advocate of agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and process improvements for your team
Be a problem-solver; when given new challenges, you are expected to research and coordinate to find solutions
Seek out answers to business problems and look for opportunities to automate processes and optimize costs
Engage with and understand clients, forming relationships that allow us to understand and prioritize both innovative new offerings and consistent platform enhancements


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills
Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
Hands-on experience with distributed systems, such as Spark and PySpark, to query and process data
Strong proficiency in Scala and/or Python programming languages
Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Ideally Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query)
Strong experience with data integration toolsets (e.g., Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks
Experience with data modeling procedures and data warehousing standard approaches and practices
Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies
Demonstrated excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team towards an optimal outcome


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

Experience with data engineering in a cloud-based environment
Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
Experience with machine learning and data science technologies
Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
