About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NEPA Project Manager to lead environmental reviews of documents submitted by third-party preparers, coordinate with project applicants and consultants, and serve as a signatory on environmental compliance documents. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical guidance and direction to staff and project teams, prepare and review technical documents, and ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our Senior Environmental Specialists and Deputy Program Manager, and you will also have the opportunity to mentor and train junior-level staff. Key Responsibilities Lead environmental reviews of documents submitted by third-party preparers, including Environmental Assessments and Categorical Exclusions Coordinate with project applicants and consultants to gather additional information and ensure compliance with environmental regulations Correspond with state and federal agencies to ensure timely and effective communication Provide technical guidance and direction to staff and project teams, including mentoring and training junior-level staff Prepare and review technical documents, including environmental compliance reports and permits Ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time, meeting the expectations of our clients and stakeholders Support the Senior Environmental Specialists and Deputy Program Manager in the overall contract management and delivery Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in environmental compliance and review, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The minimum qualifications for this role include: Bachelor's degree in biology, archaeology, geology, natural or environmental sciences, or a related field 5 years of environmental compliance and review experience, or 3 years with a master's degree in a related field Ability to review environmental documents for technical and regulatory completeness Knowledge of environmental regulations and ability to interpret and apply them in a project-specific context Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-starter, flexible team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks Proficiency with MS Office suite, Microsoft Teams, Adobe products, and GIS Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: 5 years' experience working with all levels of NEPA documentation and/or environmental permitting Experience reviewing and writing CEs, EAs, and EISs Experience working with a variety of federal agencies and the ability to absorb each agency's nuances Career Growth and Learning Opportunities Ongoing professional development and training in environmental compliance and review Mentorship and coaching from experienced professionals in the field Opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including federal contracts and private sector initiatives Collaboration with a team of experts in environmental science, policy, and management Work Environment and Company Culture We pride ourselves on our positive and supportive work environment, where employees are valued and empowered to make a difference.
