This role will be pivotal in maintaining and updating our database with precise and timely information related to UPS shipments and deliveries, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities As a Database Analyst at blithequark, your primary focus will be on ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our database. Your key responsibilities will include: Investigating and resolving normal database issues, performing disaster recovery tasks, and ensuring database stability and performance. Performing routine database support activities such as file maintenance, managing backups (full, differential, and log backups), creating, scheduling, and monitoring SQL jobs, and SQL Server troubleshooting. Applying knowledge of database sizing and performance tuning practices to optimize database efficiency. Collaborating with the team to achieve common goals, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive and productive team environment. Utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, stakeholders, and potentially, external partners. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent in education and work experience. Proven experience in database management, preferably with a focus on UPS data entry and management. Strong understanding of database principles, including database design, development, and administration. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be highly valued: Experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS SQL Technology, demonstrating your ability to work with cloud-based database solutions. Capability to develop PowerShell scripts, which will be beneficial in automating tasks and improving efficiency. Familiarity with SQL AOG and DB Mirroring, indicating your advanced knowledge of database administration and high availability solutions. Skills and Competencies To excel in this position, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: Technical Skills: Proficiency in database management systems, particularly SQL Server, experience with database design and development, and familiarity with cloud computing platforms. Business Acumen: Understanding of the importance of data in business decision-making, ability to analyze data trends, and knowledge of how to apply data insights to improve operational efficiency.
