Your responsibilities will include: Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Typing in data provided directly from customers, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection principles. Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, utilizing your knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, such as MS Office Word and Excel. Verifying data by comparing it to source documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Updating existing data, retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested, and performing regular backups to ensure data preservation. Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Proven experience as a data entry clerk, with a strong track record of accuracy and efficiency. Fast typing skills, with a strong preference for knowledge of the touch typing system. Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Office Word and Excel. Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices. Basic understanding of databases and data management principles.
